When I was a kid, I saw this mafia movie. On that movie a character wrote a check to buy a warehouse full of guns. My dad explained what check is to me and I think that is really cool. I remembered that night I played with my friends and I wrote several checks to them.
Nowadays money has a new form, electronic. There are debit card, credit card, flash card and many other cards. They are fast, practical, has many features and somewhat safe. Some people predict that any older form of money will be replaced by cards like these. But they predict the same thing with newspaper, radio, television. They said they will be replaced by internet. But a few decades have past and they still exist. They complement each other even with the so called internet. I think the same with our money form. At least it won’t happen anytime soon. That’s why even though I have many debit and credit cards; I also have my own check books.
I usually get mine from my bank, but lately I print it myself. A friend knows that I am into checks, and he told me about personal checks services website. Apparently to compete with cards, checks have evolved as well. Now you can make a personal design of your checks, and it gets cheaper and cheaper, you actually save more using checks. Although it is not that fast to cash a check, but that rewards in ultimate safety. And it is received widely. I cash my money from paypal using checks sometimes.
